Brand Spotlight: Savant
With Apple continuing to reign over the technology world, many manufacturers have made desperate attempts to accommodate its powers into their own systems. Although several control systems such as AMX and Crestron creating Apple-friendly apps for their control systems, no one has embraced the possibilities quite as much as Savant. Although many of their features may seem to appeal to a more residential environment, they have also installed plenty of commercial systems in sectors including corporate, education and retail.
Paragon employees attended the Savant training day put on by RGB Communications this week, where a full explanation of the control was shared and demos were completed. Using one mini Mac as a host, the control system can hold up to eight user interfaces and hundreds of devices can be synchronized up to the system.
Whether it’s lighting, privacy glass, climate or everything plus your audio-visual equipment, the software behind the control, known as BluePrint, can create an easy way to link it all up together. Using a simple drag and drop, the product library is regularly updated so that whatever you use can still be integrated and avoids complicated programming being needed. The telepathy integration means you can control your system through your desk phone, or make calls through you control panel or iPad, helping to further increase the applications Savant can achieve.
To make an experience that can be enjoyed regardless of technical knowledge, there is also a TrueImage format, which takes a photo of your room and moves in real time. Then, using the touch screen, you can select to turn things on and off but selecting them in the photo. Smart Energy Monitoring can also be integrated into the system so that your facilities team can keep an eye on electricity usage and costs, whilst management software can keep you updated of a faulty product within the integration. With so many possibilities from this product line, Savant is likely to continue growing in the UK and with showrooms available in London, it’s worth getting a feel for it yourself. Below is a short demo of how the True Image works.
