Meeting Pro to help Smarten up corporate communications
After having the pleasure of attending Steljes’ Shape event last week, one of the main attractions that was apparent were the possibilities within corporate collaboration. Although interactive whiteboards are often used to their full potential in an educational environment, many offices have attempted to bring in the interactivity but failed to utilise all the functions available. This is where Meeting Pro comes in and on its third version; the Smart software combines all areas of business into one easy system.
Unlike the school’s technical companion Notebook, Meeting Pro only holds on to necessary icons and tools required for a meeting, leading to a much quicker start up for a visitor and less to get confused by. The software includes plenty of business-led templates that can be customised depending on your industry and uses Smart Ink, which has been used on previous software but comes in an improved format this time round. The Ink is now available in every window and can be used with more applications, as well as supporting native digital ink. For those of you that are unaware of Smart Ink, it means that your annotations can be saved to each slide or window that you work on, so that nothing is lost and you do not need to erase work before moving on.
The software is not just an annotation package though, as it also combines in tele-presence and video conferencing capabilities. Due to integration with Microsoft Exchange or newer system Lync, the meeting can be shared with remote participants who can interact with the meeting from anywhere, which is great seeing as many remote attendees often feel isolated. Annotations can be shared and saved from remote devices, as long as the participant has downloaded Remote Ink onto their device.
So by combining video, emails, data, voice, annotations and conferencing whilst in real time, meetings are likely to be a lot more engaging as well as cost effective. Think of the amount of times you have organised a meeting and employees have had to pay to travel, the hotel’s conference room costs a fortune and further costs are added along the way. By creating flexibility and with around 15% working from home as it is, this system has already helped companies such as O2 and Range Rover to reduce their carbon footprint, costs and increase their time to market.
