Product Spotlight: Samsung Smart Signage Platform (SSP)
Digital signage may not have been a major area of discussion for a long period of time in the public domain but in the time is has been around it has evolved an incredible amount; starting off with needing a PC to control the content on the display, then minimising that to media players. These then got smaller in size and resembled a USB but Samsung have teamed up with content platform SignageLive to create a high quality display built around a single chip embedded into the large format screens.
The media player is embedded within a system-on-chip semiconductor in certain LED backlit-LCD displays and this helps reduce the hardware costs by $600-800 per screen. The simple solution requires an internet connection, power and SignageLive and you’re ready to create content and upgrade with ease. The content comes directly from a cloud-based server so you can update instantly and easily and the latest V2 version now supports the Smart Signage Platform to including multi-zone layouts, Live TV and remote diagnostics.
